Organization Overview
MC3D, LLC provides rotational molding product design, mold engineering, and prototype support for molders, OEMs, and product developers. Founded in 2013 by Matthew McKimmy and based in the Columbus, Ohio area, MC3D brings more than 17 years of product design, plastics engineering, and manufacturing experience.
We connect the molded product to the tooling and documentation needed to manufacture it. Services include SolidWorks part and assembly modeling, reverse engineering, design for manufacturability, sheet-metal mold design, tooling revisions, technical drawings, and supplier release packages. Design reviews address draft, radii, parting lines, shrinkage allowances, inserts, hardware interfaces, part extraction, and assembly fit.
Rotomolding experience includes tanks, containers, housings, and product families with shared lids and interfaces. For CleanCut Bath, MC3D developed bathtub-conversion product designs, including scan reconstruction, assembly CAD, dimensional variants, drawings, and tooling revisions. Horizon Manufacturing Group rotomolds the parts marketed by CleanCut.
Additional experience includes design, manufacturing support, and tool management for McCormick's Rebel Mixer Cart, plus molded components, sensor housings, and mechanical integration for Halogen Systems.
In-house 3D printing supports functional prototypes, fit checks, fixtures, and low-volume parts. We also support injection- and blow-molded product development, FEA, and outside manufacturing coordination.
MC3D works as an extension of your engineering team, with defined scope, practical deliverables, and clear review points. Remote collaboration and on-site support are available.
